Initial Consultation
The first step to your new smile is scheduling a consultation with Dr. Martin. During this visit, he’ll thoroughly examine your teeth, gums and jawbone to determine if implants are the best option for you. He’ll also take the time to listen to your smile goals and answer any questions you have about the procedure.
If you suffer from bone loss in your jaw or gum disease, Dr. Martin offers supplemental procedures to prepare you for implants. The most common of these are bone grafting and gum therapy.
Implant Placement
Once he determines you’re ready, Dr. Martin will place the titanium implant fixture in your jaw. We perform computer-guided surgery at our practice to ensure maximum precision.
Your jaw will need three to six months to heal after surgery. This allows osseointegration to occur, the process of your implant fusing with your jawbone to replace the missing tooth root. Thanks to this secure bond, your implant will look and function just like a natural tooth.
Final Restoration
After the healing process is complete, you’ll return to our office so Dr. Martin can finish your restoration. Depending on how many teeth you’re replacing, this could be a single crown, a multi-tooth bridge, or a set of full-arch dentures.
